Skeletal Remains Found By Hikers At Joshua Tree National Park

Riverside County Sheriff's Department detectives are investigating.

INDIO, CA – Skeletal remains were found at Joshua Tree National Park by a group of hikers, park officials announced Monday.

The still-unidentified remains were found Thursday as the group was traveling through the Stubbe Springs Loop area, according to park spokesman George Land.

Riverside County Sheriff's Department investigators "collected the remains and other evidence from the scene for testing and analysis by forensic specialists," Land said.
