Holloway (18-0-3) enters the bout having won his last 10 fights, including a successful title defense against Aldo in June. The Hawaiian native claimed the interim championship in 2016 with a victory over Anthony Pettis.

Aldo (26-0-3) is a former two-time featherweight champion who has rattled off seven straight wins. The Brazilian mixed martial artist holds the record for the most consecutive successful title defenses in UFC featherweight history.

The fight card also features top-ranked heavyweight brawler Alistar “The Reem” Overeem (45-15-0) taking on Francis “The Predator” Ngannou (10-1-0), as well as a flyweight battle between Americans Henry “The Messenger” Cejudo (11-2-0) and Sergio Pettis (16-2-0).
