Spotlight 29 Casino Welcomes Back Kool & the Gang

From Spotlight 29: Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to welcome back Kool & the Gang to the Spotlight Showroom on Saturday, March 31 at 8 p.m. Tickets go sale Friday, Dec. 1 at Spotlight29.com. Spotlight 29 Casino’s Spotlight Showroom offers the premier entertainment experience in the Coachella Valley.

Formed in 1964 in Jersey City, N.J., by brothers Ronald and Robert “Kool” Bell, the group has performed and recorded continuously over the past five decades. They’ve sold over 70 million albums while earning two Grammy Awards and charting 31 gold/platinum albums.

In 1979, the group had its first No. 1 R&B hit with “Ladies Night.” The follow-up single, 1980’s “Celebration,” was even more successful – shooting to the top of the Billboard Pop Chart while becoming an enduring anthem for weddings, graduations and holidays. The group’s success continued throughout the decade with hits like “Joanna,” “Cherish,” “Take My Heart,” “Let’s Go Dancing” and “Fresh.”

Kool & the Gang will bring their unique blend of pop, funk and R&B to the Spotlight Showroom on Saturday, March 31.
