Springtime Fun In The Desert: Upcoming Events

From Desert Recreation District: We had to spring forward an hour ahead for daylight savings and we now have an extra hour of sunshine. That’s more time for fun during Spring Break and for Spring Season. Here at Desert Recreation District (DRD) we have fun camps and free events for children to enjoy. Just bring a smile and some energy.

EGGSTRAVAGANZAS – Largest Egg Hunt in the Valley, and it’s free!

This Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt spans over four valley locations: Mecca Community Park, Bagdouma Park in Coachella, Indio Community Center, and the Indio Hills Community Center. The most eggs, children, treats, and contests combined. A special visit from Easter Bunny too! For safety, children are divided into separate groups by age. Those ages 2 and under can get eggs at the info table. Children only during egg hunts. Please bring your own basket.

SPRING CAMP – Fun During School Break

When local schools are on spring break, kids need somewhere fun to go. Our Indio Community Center and Palm Desert Community Center both offer a full day of activities like basketball, gymnastics, soccer, arts and crafts, and group games too. Monday through Friday, making friends and memories, all in a week’s fun.

SPRING SPORTS CAMPS – More Happy and Hoppy Fun

Kids can sharpen their skills on the field, court or fairway by enrolling into one of our sports camps below.

March 27 & 29, 2018 - Spring Basketball Camp

• 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. - Indio Community Center (Tuesday & Thursday)
