The event, to be held 6:30 p.m. at the Palm Springs Convention Center, will feature work by students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
“The ‘DigiCom’ project was established to encourage students and teachers to apply 21st century skills to the creation and publishing of video productions that demonstrate student mastery of academic content standards, support community projects and promote responsible citizenship,” district spokeswoman Joan Boiko said.

Students and staff create videos illustrating a theme -- this year’s theme is “On Our Way” -- then the best films by individuals and classes are awarded prizes or scholarships.
The event will also feature a mariachi band and folklorico dancers in celebration of “Cinco de Mayo.”
