Student Threat Prompts PDHS Lockdown

Students at Palm Desert High School were ordered to shelter in place today after a student made an undisclosed threat against the campus, prompting a campus-wide lockdown for nearly half an hour.
Deputies were dispatched shortly after 11 a.m. after a special needs student made a threat -- the nature of which was not disclosed -- regarding the school at 74910 Aztec Road, sheriff’s spokesman Armando Munoz said.

The unidentified student was taken away for a mental health evaluation, and authorities lifted the lockdown after determining there was no danger, the spokesman said.
