Three Hospitalized in Rancho Mirage Crash

Three people were injured Tuesday in a Rancho Mirage crash which required the use of the jaws of life to free two of them, fire officials reported.

The crash happened along Highway 111 at Dunes View Road just before 3 p.m., according to Riverside County Fire Department Spokesman Mark Annas.

Two of the people in one vehicle had to be cut out of the wreckage, according to Annas.  Those two, along with a third person from the other vehicle, were all taken to an area hospital.

Two of the people's injuries were described as major, while the third's were minor, Annas indicated in his fire report.  The cause of the collision was under investigation.
