Three Palm Desert Boy Scouts Achieve Eagle Status

Three Scouts from Troop 131 were honored Sunday for their achievements.

Three members of Palm Desert-based Boy Scout Troop 131 were honored as Eagle Scouts this past weekend.

The Eagle Scout Award, the highest rank in scouting, was given to Oliver Maize, 15, of La Quinta; Gregory Friscia, 16, of Rancho Mirage, and Nicholas Richardson, 16, also of Rancho Mirage.

Local Assemblyman Brian Nestande hailed the boys during the presentation, noting their achievements being an outstanding example of America in action, along with having a keen sense of maturity and leadership.
