'Thrillville' Fair Opens At Riverside County Fairgrounds, Indio

INDIO, CA — Come one, come all to the new Riverside County Fair. Known as "Thrillville," it begins Friday and runs through Feb. 27 at the Riverside County Fairgrounds, located at 46-350 Arabia Street in Indio.

Expect rides, food vendors, exhibits, community events and more during the festival that is temporarily taking the place of the Riverside County Fair. Look for special events, including the parade led by county resident Steve Garvey, later in the month.

Admission is $10 per person, and there will be discounts. Veterans, seniors and children under age 5 are free. Parking is $10 per car.
When you go, your admission pays for nearly all concerts, a fair organizer said. Tickets for Expectacular Jaripeo Baile on Feb. 20 and Voz de Mando on Feb. 27 are sold separately.

Free concerts will include Lakeside, Metalachi, Bone Thumpers, Bumptown, King Sol & The Vibes, dysFUNKsion, LawKnee, No Raja, Pescaterritory, and Mariachi Tierra Mexicana de Coachella.

On Feb. 21. Parade, 9 a.m. The Riverside County, the City of Indio and Fantasy Springs Resort Casino are sponsoring the annual President's Day Grand Parade at 9 a.m.

Grand marshal, Dodgers great, World Series champion and Coachella Valley resident Steve Garvey will lead the parade.
Also, on Feb. 21, look for a Flag-Raising ceremony at 1 p.m.

The Riverside County Fair Board and Supervisor Perez will host the annual flag-raising ceremony that honors our country and our nation's veterans and service members at 1 p.m. Feb. 21 at the U.S. flagpole in the Taj Mahal Building Courtyard.

On Feb. 26 the Junior Livestock Auction, an annual event supporting Riverside County 4-H and FFA youth, will be held at 10 a.m.
