Tour de Palm Springs Donates To Xavier Prep Scholarship Fund

The donation also goes toward Xavier's student newspaper.

A $4,000 donation from Tour de Palm Springs will go toward student scholarships at in Palm Desert, it was announced today.

The donation will also benefit the school’s student newspaper, according to Laura Hall, Xavier’s communications coordinator.

This year Xavier student David Danos became a committee chair for the Tour de Palm Springs's Green Effort, according to Andrea Spirtos, executive director of the event.

“David Danos began working two years ago on the green effort that is associated with the Tour de Palm Springs. This year he not only became the committee chair, but championed the effort,” Spirtos said.

“David is the youngest committee chair we have ever had in the events 13 year existence, and it’s through the efforts of people like David and his Xavier classmates that make me confident in the future of our society.”

The Tour de Palm Springs has raised over $1 million for Coachella Valley charities since 1999.
