Tramway Reopened After Maintenance
This year's repairs included rebuilding the main gearbox and cleaning and refurbishing at both tram stations.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway was open for business this weekend, after being closed the past two weeks for its annual maintenance hiatus.
“We are now ready and excited to begin our 52nd season,” said Nancy Nichols, the tram’s vice president of sales and marketing.
This year’s repairs included rebuilding the main gearbox, changing counterweight sheave bearings at the Mountain Station, shortening the upper haul rope, construction of a water storage tank and cleaning and refurbishing at both tram stations.
