Vigil For Orlando Massacre Victims Set Thursday Night In Desert Hot Springs
New LGBT section of library also will be launched.

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA --- The city of Desert Hot Springs tomorrow night will honor the LGBT community by unveiling an LGBT section at the library and hosting a vigil in remembrance of the Orlando shooting victims gunned down at a gay nightclub.
The LGBT Pride section of the Desert Hot Springs Library will be open to the public following a 5:30 p.m. news conference.
The section is stocked with more than 100 books and DVDs amassed by local LGBT groups and individuals.

According to the city, the LGBT Pride section is the first such section within the county library system.
The city's Human Rights Committee is sponsoring Thursday's candlelight vigil at Guy J. Tedesco Park, beginning at 8 p.m., in remembrance of the victims and "to take a stand against violent firearm crimes,'' according to a city statement.
