Embrace The ART, MUSIC,
&  DANCE 
of the Historic Cathedral City  Cove



      A Walking Tour  of Historic Cathedral City Cove Homes and Artists will be held  on Sunday, February 23 from 11AM to
3PM.
The public is
invited to



--visit
historic adobe, pre-WWII, and mid-century 
homes and home/studios of professional Cathedral City artists;



--view
sculpture, painting, photography and folk art;



--
tour  the remarkable home of
the  celebrated desert painter,
Agnes Pelton;



--attend
open rehearsals of two resident performing arts groups: The Dance Program and the Desert Winds Freedom Band;



--experience
a Folk Art Garden & Childrens Art Workshop;



-- see an avant
garde
Butoh
dance  performance of moving
sculpture by the diosGracias VoceDans Theater 
in the Pelton Sculpture Garden.



      The featured
artist is sculptor, Robert Reeves, who lives and works in the Cathedral City
Cove.  His uniquely  hand-crafted fine art  furniture, The Contour
Collection, 
is represented by the Stephen
Archdeacon Gallery in Palm Springs.



     The participating homes are within an
eight block radius in the lower Cove and conveniently accessible by walking or
driving. A printed program 
available on the day of the event 
will be your passport ticket which includes a map and information  of the  homes, artists, and activities of the day.



    Tickets are $15 per person (children free),
available by PayPal online at the website: www.AgnesPeltonSociety.com  and on the day of the event at the
Farmers Market fronting the Imax Theater (Hwy 111 and Cathedral Canyon Dr.)

The Agnes
Pelton Society
is an arts and arts education advocacy group dedicated
to  preserve the legacy of
celebrated desert painter, Agnes Pelton, who lived and painted in her  Cathedral City home for over twenty
years and whose highly valued works are exhibited in major museums and
prominent private collections.



The Desert
Winds Freedom Band
was founded by Gary Moline in the Fall of 2001. The
band is currently directed by Dean McDowell and has grown to a large concert
band and added a jazz band. The Band is a diverse group open to all gay and
gay-friendly people who like to play concert band music. It serves the greater
Palm Springs and Coachella Valley area and rehearses in Cathedral City.



Under the direction
of Kym Lewis, The Dance Program Center for Dance Education is an
established  professional school
for dance instruction that provides expert instruction at affordable rates to
serve the community and is based in the Cathedral City Cove. 



 diosGracias VoceDans
Theater
 is a unique avant garde company of professional dancer/educators  based in Cathedral City under the direction of Simeon
Den.  The curated company includes
accomplished dancers who have performed and taught internationally including
the Alvin Ailey Company, in films, television and on Broadway
