Former Palm Desert Aztec D.J. Welch has been named Pac 12 Defensive Player of the Week for his standout effort in Oregon State's upset win over then #13 Wisconsin this past Saturday.
The sophomore linebacker, in his first collegiate start, posted seven tackles in keying the Beavers defense in shutting down a high octane Wisconsin running game.
