Whiz Kid: Ciara Reistad

Accomplishment: Reistad earned gold, silver and bronze medals through five years of competitive gymnastics, including the title of All-Around champion in meets from L.A. to Phoenix. She has also competed in the Vault, Beam, Uneven Bars and Floors competitions.

When Reistad was nine, she won Best All-Around in the Lady Luck Invitational Hosted by Brown's Gymnastics at the Tropicana Las Vegas, placing first overall in the 9-10 age group (Level 4) with a score of 36.450.
Half a year later, Reistad won Best All-Around again in the All Olympians Invitational at UCLA's John Wooden Center in July 2005. She placed first overall in the 9-10 age group (Level 5) with a score of 37.250.

When Reistad was 10, she won the 2006 Liberty Classic at Arizona State University with an overall score of 37.275, which earned her a Best All-Around medal in the 10-11 age division (Level 7). She also finished first in three of the four individual events in Tempe.
These days, Reistad competes on La Quinta High School's junior varsity volleyball and softball teams while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
Key to Awesomeness: "Ciara has a fabulous attitude. She helps her classmates out," her grandmother, Berit Reistad, said. "She is smart and just a wonderful person. She wants to be a veterinarian and has eight animals that she takes good care of at home."
