Xavier Students Bring Classical Music To Valley Classrooms
Sye and Chloe Sharpe were honored with the Shiny Apple Award.

Two Palm Desert teenagers who compose their own music were honored this week with the Shiny Apple Award from the Palm Springs Unified School District.
students Sye, 17, and Chloe Sharpe, 14, were given the award for their work with the Classical Concerts in Schools program through the Steinway Society.
The students have performed in eight schools, each presenting their own show, according to Laura Hall, a Xavier spokeswoman.

Sye’s program includes Bach, Chopin and other classics, as well as Elton John, Hall said.
Chloe plays the guitar and sings pop and Broadway songs. She has participated in at the several times and has received honorable mention, she said.

The brother and sister will perform at noon May 21 at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
