With Palm Springs accounting for most heat-related illnesses in Riverside County, the city is targeting vulnerable neighborhoods, offering food and childcare at meetings and tying the effort to this week's Extreme Heat Summit.

Airports countywide awarded funds for variety of projects (kesq.com) — Palm Springs International Airport is set to receive $140,600 in federal funding for new equipment as part of a broader $8.5 million package for Riverside County airports. While other facilities focus on runway and apron upgrades, this grant helps keep PSP's operations and safety infrastructure current for travelers and local businesses that rely on air service.
