Police, responding to Human Rights Commission concerns, will boost citations and towing for vehicles misusing accessible spaces or blocking access aisles, and are urging property owners to post required signage so violations can be enforced and mobility access protected.

Planning Commission pulls Bel Air Greens housing plan from agenda after tribe acquires half the site ⋆ The Palm Springs Post (thepalmspringspost.com) — Palm Springs residents following the future of the former Bel Air Greens golf course should know a key housing proposal was pulled from the Planning Commission agenda after the Agua Caliente tribe acquired about half the site. The change creates a split between city-regulated and tribal trust land, delaying any decision on converting the long-idle course into low-density housing until legal and planning questions are resolved.
3. Modernism Week Announces Inaugural Day Trips Across Southern California (patch.com) — Modernism Week, based in Palm Springs, is launching small-group architectural day trips across Southern California, giving local design lovers new ways to explore landmark homes and neighborhoods. The inaugural tour kicks off Sept. 26 in Pasadena, with future excursions to Los Angeles, Claremont, La Jolla, Riverside, and more, all limited to 25 participants and supporting scholarships and preservation grants.
4. Interior Design Hosts Latest re:Source In Palm Springs, California (interiordesign.net) — A recent three-day Interior Design re:Source conference brought more than 100 designers and manufacturers to the La Quinta Resort & Club near Palm Springs, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and relationship-building. Attendees mixed targeted business meetings with jeep and San Andreas Fault tours, creative painting sessions, and poolside downtime, highlighting the desert area as a hub for design networking and inspiration.
5. Riverside County Faces Amended Complaint Over $2.5 Million Animal Services Contract (nbcpalmsprings.com) — Riverside County is facing an amended taxpayer lawsuit challenging a $2.5 million animal services consulting contract that some residents told NBC Palm Springs should have funded shelter needs instead. Plaintiffs argue the deal bypassed normal contracting rules and overemphasizes keeping animals out of shelters, while the county says similar claims were previously dismissed and will be addressed in court.
