3 Arrested Over Weekend For Suspected Gang Shooting, Fight

The incident was on Henderson Avenue in Menlo Park.

Police arrested three men Saturday evening in Menlo Park in connection with an alleged gang-related shooting and physical fight, according to police.

Menlo Park police said officers responded at 5:06 p.m. to the 1100 block of Henderson Avenue after several reports of a physical fight between two men, and a third man who allegedly discharged a firearm were reported.

Upon arrival, police said officers located and arrested the 51-year-old shooting suspect Isaac Lopez-Valencia of Menlo Park without incident.

Police said the two suspects engaged in the physical fight, 25-year-old Daniel Lopez and 21-year-old Jhonattan Diaz, both of Menlo Park, allegedly had ties to rival criminal street gangs and were also arrested without incident. During a search of the area, two loaded firearms were recovered according to police.

No one was injured by the gunfire during the incident, police said.

Police said the three men were booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Both Diaz and Lopez were booked on suspicion of battery, and Lopez-Valencia was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, exhibiting a firearm and possession of an unregistered firearm.
