The contenders contrasted approaches to math placement, advanced courses, and public engagement, while also outlining how they'd work with the new superintendent and rebuild trust with families and staff.
   

• Bloomington and Palo Alto, Calif., mark Sibling City Partnership with simultaneous tree planting (wbiw.com) — Palo Alto residents are invited to a special tree-planting ceremony at Rinconada Park on Oct. 3, held simultaneously with Bloomington, Indiana, to celebrate their Sibling City partnership. Urban forestry crews will plant matching Canadian redbuds, and a Palo Alto scavenger hunt will highlight decades of mayoral trees, underscoring ongoing collaboration with local nonprofit Canopy.
