Bay Area Teens Release Book On Mental Health

A book launch is set for June 13 at Children's Health Council, Palo Alto.

PALO ALTO, CA — Last fall, 19 teenagers from 12 Bay Area high schools met at Children's Health Council, Palo Alto to talk about teen wellness. Over the course of nine months, they created a book to shed light on the mental health struggles teens face in high school. The result, "Just a Thought," is described as a powerful collection of quotes and narratives taken directly from teen survey responses, alongside stunning artwork by local illustrator, Gemma Correll.

Wednesday, June 13, "Just a Thought—Uncensored Narratives on Teen Metal Health," will be released by Children's Health Council, Palo Alto. The launch of the Teen Wellness Committee book — researched and written to prompt frank and honest discussions between parents, teens, friends and educators about important topics relating to teen mental health — will be celebrated from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 650 Clark Way in Palo Alto.

The book launch is free and open to the public and will feature a teen panel, book signing, light refreshments and a La Croix toast. (Registration is available here.)
