COMMUTER ALERT: Caltrain Single-Tracking After Fatality

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – Trains are single-tracking at restricted speeds through the area where a person was fatally struck on the tracks in San Mateo this afternoon, according to Caltrain officials.

At around 2:35 p.m., a southbound train struck a person on the tracks near Belleview Avenue, between the San Mateo and Burlingame stations, Caltrain officials said.

About 700 passengers were onboard at the time.

Further information about the fatality was not immediately available.
