Founded in 2007 by British baroque violinist Garry Clarke, Baroque Band has rapidly established itself as one of America’s most exciting period instrument orchestras. It was hailed by the Chicago Tribune in 2009 as one of the top ten most important happenings of the decade in Chicago classical music. SFEMS brings this dynamic young ensemble to Bay Area audiences for the first time, to recreate Charles II’s 17th century England with grand celebratory music by Purcell, Grabu, Blow, and Croft.
