Female Tesla Employees Allege Sexism In Workplace: Reports

Breaking: According to news reports, some 20 women employed by the Silicon Valley company recently voiced their concerns.

SILICON VALLEY, CA -- Following a proposed International Women's Day event gone awry at Tesla, more than a dozen women who work for the Palo Alto-based electric car company have voiced their concerns about dealing with alleged sexism in the workplace, according to reports.

The Guardian reports that some female employees were offended when the company invited them to a March 8 wellness event focusing on essential oils. The event was postponed and instead a town hall meeting about diversity was called, but that did not go over well with some female employees who complained that most speakers on the panel were male, the Guardian reports.

Watch the below Newsy coverage of the issue, which reports that the employees' allegations come after the termination of a female engineer for Tesla who in February publicly accused Elon Musk's company of sexual harassment and discrimination, then filed a lawsuit.
