Former Palo Alto Councilmembers Contest Downtown Project: Report
The challenge of this project will go before the council later this month according to the report.
PALO ALTO, CA — Three former Palo Alto city councilmembers are challenging an approved downtown development project, Palo Alto Weekly reports.
Former Mayors Karen Holman and Pat Burt and former Vice Mayor Greg Schmid are formally contesting a project allowing a developer to demolish an existing structure and replace it with a bigger one under a program intended to be used for seismic retrofitting, the report said.
The proposed 233 University Ave. development was reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board in May 2019, the report said.
