Man Sentenced To 4 Years For Stabbing Acquaintance At Seafood Restaurant
BREAKING: The February incident was caught on the Half Moon Bay eatery's surveillance system.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA ā A Half Moon Bay man who pleaded no contest to stabbing an acquaintance at a seafood restaurant earlier this year was sentenced Friday to four years in state prison, according to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.
Victor Cauich-Dominguez, 25, of Half Moon Bay, will serve three years and 84 days on one felony count of assault, including enhancements, after the time he has already spent in jail has been taken into account, Wagstaffe said.
Cauich-Dominguez was at dinner with a group of acquaintances at a fish restaurant on San Mateo Road at about 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 11. During dinner he kept giving the victim, a 21-year-old man who was part of the
group, "mean looks," prosecutors said.

Finally the victim stood up and asked Cauich-Dominguez what his problem was. Cauich-Dominguez said he wanted to fight and started walking toward the victim, who repeatedly said that he didn't want to fight,
prosecutors said.
As Cauich-Dominguez kept advancing, the victim punched him in the eye, then Cauich-Dominguez pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the torso.

The wound lacerated the victim's liver, causing internal bleeding that required surgery, prosecutors said.
Cauich-Dominguez fled the restaurant but called the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office the next day. When he met with investigators he was arrested. The entire incident was recorded on the restaurant's security
cameras, prosecutors said.
