Palo Alto Affordable Housing Complex Breaks Ground: Report

PALO ALTO, CA — After nearly 10 years, an affordable housing project finally broke ground in Palo Alto, The Mercury News reports.
The 100 percent affordable Wilton Court project at 3705 El Camino Real will feature 59 units –56 studios and three one-bedroom apartment – once construction on the four-story structure is completed, the report said.
Palo Alto’s City Council kicked in around $10 million towards the $46.3 million project according to the report.

The development is mostly reserved for adults with intellectual and development disabilities, the report said.
The project hasn’t faced any significant organized opposition since it was first proposed in April 2018, the report said.
