Palo Alto Attempted Daylight Armed Robbery Probed

No injuries were reported, and the suspect is at large, police said.

PALO ALTO, CA – Police are investigating an attempted daylight armed robbery Wednesday afternoon in Palo Alto, authorities said.

The report of the incident came in at around 2:20 p.m., about a half hour after it occurred in the 1100 block of Webster Street, police said.

No injuries were reported, and the suspect is at large, police said.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was working outside a residence when the suspect approached him and pointed a handgun at him demanding his wallet and cell phone, police said.

When the victim refused, the suspect ran into a vehicle driven by another person southbound on Webster Street.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 male of unknown age. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black face covering, police said.

The getaway vehicle was described as a red four-door Toyota truck driven by a man wearing glasses.
