Palo Alto Cyclist Struck By Car In Mt. View Succumbs To Injuries
The man, 63, was hit by a car on El Camino Real at San Antonio Road.
A bicyclist struck by a car in Mountain View last week died of his injuries on Wednesday, police said.
The bicyclist was identified as 63-year-old Eric Palmquist of Palo Alto, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office. Around 7:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to reports of a collision between a car and bicyclist at San Antonio Road and El Camino Real, police said. Witnesses said the bicyclist appeared to have suffered a head injury and was unconscious but breathing, according to police.
Arriving officers found the bicyclist, later identified as Palmquist, lying on the pavement and the involved car, a 2002 Honda Civic, stopped a short distance away, police said. Palmquist was transported to a hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, according to police.

Palmquist was traveling west on San Antonio Road where he was struck by a northbound car approaching West El Camino Real, police said. The bicyclist struck the car’s windshield and landed in front of the car onto the pavement, according to police.
