The City is continuing its longstanding practice of independent police auditing with the latest release of the Independent Police Auditor (IPA) report. The Palo Alto City Manager shares his perspective in the this latest blog, In the Public Trust: Reinforcing Public Trust by Expanding Independent Review and New City Reporting, providing a personal perspective on the importance of civilian review of police interactions with the public and the role of the City’s IPA. It also seeks to clear up any possible misperception that the City’s reporting has been reduced.
