Palo Alto Opens Access To Foothills Park: Report
The City Council approved a pilot program expanding access to the nature preserve.

PALO ALTO, CA — The Palo Alto City Council on Monday approved a pilot program that will grant access to Foothills Park to nonresidents, Palo Alto Weekly reports.
The council voted 5-2 in favor of selling up to 50 permits per day to nonresidents who wish to visit the 1,400-acre preserve off Page Mill Road, the report said.
Supporters of allowing nonresidents access to the park have argued that the city’s practice of limiting access to the park to city residents is discriminatory.
