Palo Alto’s Tam Tam Restaurant Shutters, 'For Now'

PALO ALTO, CA — A popular South Bay Vietnamese restaurant announced it will be closing early next week.

Tam Tam Restaurant announced in a statement on its website that it decided not to renew its lease at 140 University Ave.

The popular eatery which just opened 14 months ago hopes to reopen at a new location, the restaurant said in a statement on its website titled “Farewell For Now.”

Tam Tam is a spinoff of the more formal Tamarine restaurant, Palo Alto Weekly reports.

Tam Tam is run by sisters Tanya Hartley and Tammy Huynh according to the report.

"COVID made it hard for our future in Palo Alto," Hartley told the publication.

Tam Tam’s last day at its current location will be Sunday.

“It is with great sadness that we share that we have decided not to renew our lease at our current location,” Tam Tam’s statement said.

“While we look for a new home, please visit Tamarine Restaurant & Gallery, where a few Tam Tam favorites will be available soon. We hope you stay connected to us here on Instagram (@tamtampaloalto), and will be looking forward to sharing an announcement in the not-too-distant future.”
