Palo Alto Woman Dies When Struck By Caltrain
A woman struck by a Caltrain in Palo Alto late last week later died at a hospital, a transit agency spokeswoman said Tuesday.

PALO ALTO - A woman struck by a Caltrain in Palo Alto late last week later died at a hospital, a transit agency spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The woman was on the tracks around 3 p.m. Friday near Palo Alto Avenue, where northbound train No. 155 hit her, Caltrain spokesperson Jayme Ackemann said.
The pedestrian was taken to Stanford Hospital where she later died, Ackemann said.

The woman had graduated from Henry M. Gunn High School in 2014, Palo Alto Unified School District superintendent Glenn McGee said in a letter Saturday to the school community.
The district has provided grief counselors, mental health therapists and psychologists to help support students and teachers this week, McGee said.

The involved train was carrying 265 passengers who were not injured, Ackemann said.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office's transit police bureau is handling the investigation into the collision, according to Ackemann.
