AI Used To Change Student's Race, Gender In Marketing Image At Bay Area College: Report (patch.com) — Stanford students and Palo Alto residents are learning that a campus marketing image was altered with AI to change a student's race and gender and slim others, in violation of university policy. Stanford officials say the Residential and Dining Enterprises unit used AI without disclosure and now plan additional training and review to prevent similar incidents.
   

2. New superintendent to prioritize community over predetermined agenda (thecampanile.org) — Palo Alto Unified's new superintendent, Dr. Jason Glass, is pledging to rebuild trust by listening closely to parents, students, and educators rather than imposing a preset agenda. After a turbulent period with leadership turnover, board members, union leaders, and student representatives say his collaborative style and outreach efforts could calm meetings and refocus the district on strong, inclusive schools.
   

3. Turf concerns resurface at Palo Alto playgrounds as city ponders new rules (paloaltoonline.com) — Palo Alto officials are rethinking how and where synthetic turf can be used on city playgrounds, with commissioners pushing for stricter, health-focused rules instead of flexible guidelines. The debate, centered on parks like Magical Bridge, Boulware and Rinconada, could shape future play surfaces and environmental standards in neighborhoods across town once a final policy reaches the City Council.
   

4. BAY CHORAL GUILD: Rich Repertoire From an Outstanding Ensemble (padailypost.com) — A long-running Palo Alto–based chorus, Bay Choral Guild, is starting rehearsals for its 48th season and will perform at St. Mark's Episcopal and First Congregational Church in town. This year's programs span medieval chants, Spanish and Portuguese Renaissance works, and mid-20th-century "cathedral classics." Local music lovers can find dates, venues, and tickets on the group's website.
