Paul Martin's Opens Today in Mountain View

The eatery is known for a top-notch menu with season-fresh ingredients.

Paul Martin’s American Grill opens its third Bay Area restaurant today at The Village at San Antonio Center, Mountain View.

Doors open at 3 p.m. with planned hours 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Conceived by restaurateurs Brian Bennett and Paul Fleming as the restaurant they "always wanted in their neighborhood," Paul Martin’s serves "American Classics" using local and peak-of-the-season ingredients.

The 6,285-square-foot Mountain View location will seat 167, with a private dining area for 10, a patio lounge that holds up to 50, and is employing 120 full- and part-time workers, according to management.

Anthony Smith, President-Partner of Paul Martin’s American Grill, noted that Mountain View is the brand’s sixth restaurant with more openings planned for the future. With locations including San Mateo and Roseville, Paul Martin's inked its deal with The Village in February, and is across from the Village Green and dog park.

“Given our recent success in San Mateo, we’re excited to bring our food to Mountain View,” said Smith. “There is a lot of care that goes into each dish at Paul Martin’s. This is food you feel good about eating because everything we serve is made from scratch in house. We also spend a little more for the highest quality ingredients from some of the best farms and purveyors in California.”

The menu will rotate seasonally with fresh produce, seafood from sustainable fisheries, free-range and natural meats and poultry, artisan cheeses and cured meats from small, best-in-class purveyors.

Paul Martin’s most popular dishes include free range “Brick” chicken with mashed potatoes and fresh herb jus, marinated skirt steak with grilled maple-bourbon sweet potatoes and arugula and its signature banana cream pie.

An official "grand opening" with ribbon cutting is planned for early 2014, according to management.

The 20-acre Village at San Antonio broke ground in 2011, as a mixed-used master plan of housing, retail, parks and plazas developed by San Francisco-based Merlone Geier Partners.
