Peninsula Police Seeking Leads In Shooting Of Man, 22
The victim was shot Thursday in his yard in San Mateo.

SAN MATEO, CA -- Police in San Mateo are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday that left a man injured.
Officers with the San Mateo Police Department responded at 8:40 p.m. to the 600 block of Patricia Avenue on a report of a gunshot victim, according to police.
Police said four men, one armed with a handgun, entered the side yard of a residence and confronted the 22-year-old victim.

The victim was shot once in the leg and suffered an injury that was not considered life threatening, police said.
The shooting was not a random incident. Investigators believe the incident was gang-related and that the victim was specifically targeted, according to police.
