Police Offer $10K Reward In Palo Alto Safeway Robbery
Police are searching for the three men, accused of committing an armed robbery in which they made off with prescription drugs.

PALO ALTO, CA — Police announced a $10,000 reward Saturday for information leading to the arrest of three suspects accused of committing an armed robbery at a Palo Alto Safeway on Friday.
The three male suspects walked into the Safeway at 12:38 a.m. Friday. One showed a handgun and ordered an employee to drop to the ground, while a second suspect broke the pharmacy's glass door and stole an unknown amount of prescription drugs, according to a police investigation.
A third suspect acted as a lookout near the front of the store, and all three eventually fled in a pickup truck seen driving east on the Oregon Expressway, according to police.

Police are offering the reward based on the seriousness of the crime and the fact that a gun was used, police said. The reward is offered by Mothers Against Murder, a nonprofit based in Los Altos.Anyone with information was asked to call police at 650-329-2413, or send anonymous tips to paloalto@tipnow.org.
Two of the suspects were caught on surveillance video entering the Safeway several hours earlier at 9:44 p.m., taking food items and leaving without paying, police said.

The three suspects were described as Hispanic men in their twenties ranging from 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall. The suspect with the gun wore a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and red sneakers, while the suspect who broke the door wore a yellow hooded sweatshirt with a Tommy Hilfiger logo, dark pants and black shoes, police said. The third suspect wore a red hooded jacket, grey pants and white sneakers.
Their vehicle was described as a full-size red two-door pickup — possibly an early 2000 Ford or Chevrolet.
