Power Out For 4,000 Palo Alto Customers
City officials believe the outage may be because of a blown transformer.

PALO ALTO, CA -- A power outage is affecting more than 4,000 Palo Alto households at present. City officials said the outage was caused by a mylar balloon shorting out the electrical wires.
Residents are asked not to call 911 to report the outage, as the city is aware of the problem and dispatchers have no information to report.
The power was expected to be restored by 3 p.m.
