Palo Alto Massage Therapist Charged With Sexual Assault

PALO ALTO, CA — A San Mateo man was arrested last week on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman during a massage appointment at a business in Palo Alto, police said Monday.
The alleged incident was reported shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Spine and Therapy Center at 2504 Ash St. according to police.
The alleged victim is a woman in her 40s, police said.

Roy Alberto Melgar,27, was arrested on suspicion of sexual penetration and booked into Santa Clara County jail, police said.
The business terminated Melgar upon learning of the investigation and is cooperating with detectives involved in this case, police said.

Police said they are not aware of any additional alleged victims tied to Melgar.
No other details about the case were released by police, and a call to the business Monday morning was not immediately returned.
