The City of Palo Alto and its Human Relations Commission launched a series of community engagement opportunities in 2020 and, following extensive community input, the City Council adopted actions focused on addressing race and equity. In addition, this past Monday, the City Council adopted a resolution denouncing, condemning and combating racism, xenophobia, and intolerance against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. This builds on standing policy of the Palo Alto Police Department to protect the rights of all individuals by preventing, investigating, and reporting hate crimes.
