Summer Streets Comes To Cal Ave In Palo Alto
This temporary closure on Cal Avenue runs every day through July 5. It could be extended depending on how community supports this effort.

Summer Streets is a new effort getting underway in Palo Alto to expand outdoor dining and retail options in business districts such as California Avenue and the downtown core and other business areas throughout Palo Alto.

Beginning Thursday, June 11, California Avenue will be closed to through traffic from El Camino Real to Birch Street to support an expanded retail and restaurant experience on Cal Ave during the current public health emergency. On Monday, June 8, the City Council gave general direction on a series of actions to support local restaurants and retail stores in Palo Alto. This temporary closure on Cal Avenue runs every day through July 5. It could be extended longer depending on how the community supports this effort. Learn more about the Summer Streets program here.
