Ten new MD's joining Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center

Will offer Kaiser Permanente members wide range of specialties, expert care


Ten new physicians have joined the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center. They will provide a wide range of specialties, from Endocrinology and Gastroenterology to Pathology and Rheumatology. With this latest group of new physicians, the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center and the Gilroy Medical Office have added 22 additional doctors in past six months.
Two of the new physicians will work in the Department of Pathology. They are Dr. Sava Grujic, a graduate of the University of Belgrade in Serbia, and Dr. Menaka Raju, a graduate of the Coimbatore Medical College in India. Both physicians completed extensive residencies and fellowships in the United States.
Dr. Albert Luo joins the Department of Cardiology at Kaiser Permanente San Jose. He’s a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Ohio, and did his residency and fellowship at Stanford University
Also at the San Jose Campus, Dr. Jennifer Lee joins the Department of Rheumatology. She graduated from University of California-San Francisco and completed residency and a fellowship at UC-Davis hospital.
Dr. Sonya Meyers joins the Department of Occupational Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed her residencies there.
Joining the Kaiser Permanente Gilroy Medical Office Department of Family Medicine is Dr. Rachel Sutherland. She graduated from UC-SF School of Medicine.
Two new physicians join the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Emergency Department: Dr. Elizabeth Mahal, who comes from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, and specialty work at the Mayo Clinic and the University of Iowa; and Dr. Bahar Mojgani, a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Samineh Madani joins the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Department of Rheumatology: she is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed residencies and fellowships at the UC- Davis hospital.
Joining the Department of Gastroenterology is Dr. Tohru Sato, a graduate of the Stony Brook University Medical School in New York. He completed his fellowship at Stanford. He has research experience in liver and colon cancer screening.
“These newest physicians have wide clinical experience to provide our members with the outstanding care they expect from Kaiser Permanente San Jose,” said Dr. Raj Bhandari, Physician-in-Chief of the medical center.
