Tesla Sends Cryptic Invites for 'Model X'
Building on the mystique of the forthcoming Model S, Tesla will unveil another model, the X.
Tesla Motors will unveil the Model X to a select list of invitees at their Los Angeles design studio, according to an invite sent to Tesla fans.
The invitation depicts a shadowy, slick black crossover car, presumably the vehicle that will be unveiled February 9.
In addition to the brick-and-mortar show, there will be a simultaneous webcast of the event beginning at 7 p.m. PST on Tesla's website.

According to an SEC filing last year, Tesla is "designing the Model X to incorporate the functionality of a minivan with the consumer appeal of a sports-utility vehicle."
The move comes as the company readies the rollout of its , which is slated to hit showroom floors some time this year.
