According to Fioli: “The original illustrations featured in this historical set were done by John James Audubon, an American naturalist and painter, between 1827 and 1838. His original works were made from life-sized engraved plates that were then printed and hand-colored. His collection forever shaped the natural history and ornithological worlds. Sadly, the collection documents six now-extinct American birds. For the first time, all 30 of Filoli’s 1964 edition prints will be displayed.”
