Weekend Traffic Advisory: Soccer and Fireworks

From the Palo Alto Police Department:

Major League Soccer returns to Stanford Stadium on Saturday night, with the San Jose Earthquakes taking on the LA Galaxy. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.Estimated attendance is a full house of 50,000 people.

We expect heavy traffic on Embarcadero Road, El Camino Real, Sand Hill Road, Oregon Expressway, and surrounding streets beginning as early as mid-afternoon. There will also be a short fireworks show at the end of the game, and we expect the crowd to stick around until the end to see it. As a result, traffic will likely be affected in the area until well after 11:00 p.m.
