110 Freeway Shut Down Due To Power Line Hazard

A portion of the 110 Freeway was shut down Wednesday morning.

SAN PEDRO, CA — A severed power pole along the 110 Freeway in San Pedro brought down wires and prompted a full closure of the freeway's start and end point in the neighborhood.

The California Highway Patrol received a report at around 9:10 a.m. of low-hanging wires on the southbound side of the freeway, near where it terminates at Gaffey Street.

At some point, the pole fell, and firefighters responded to divert traffic at First Street and Gaffey, the agency said.
