A Taste of Italy at the Promenade

An upscale Italian restaurant on the western end of the Promenade on the Peninsula, Frascati Ristorante is in a class by itself.

Frascati Ristorante & Bar is a surprising treat.

It's a Zagat-rated restaurant in a mall with Italian-born executive chef Enrico Glaudo as the proprietor (with his wife, Susan), who specializes in Northern Italian cuisine.

For shoppers on the Promenade on the Peninsula who stop for lunch, Frascati offers paninis and pizza at lunchtime, as well as richer meals of seafood and meat. And wine, of course.

Dinner, though, is incredible here. Frascati serves not only Glaudo's family recipes for classic pasta sauces and risottos, but specialties like veal ossobuco alla Milanese, or salmone al vino rosso (salmon in a Cabernet sauce with cipollini onions and garlic mashed potatoes). Try to save room for tiramisu, or Frascati's ice cream concoctions.
