Active Shooter Training At Peninsula High School Next Week
Police are aware of and will be participating in the drill, residents shouldn't be alarmed.

PALOS VERDES, CA – An "active shooter" training drill will occur at Peninsula High School in Rolling Hills Estates, on Monday, August 20th. This drill is a part of a larger training event from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for more than 1,000 Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District employees, according to a City of Rancho Palos Verdes press release.
The “active shooter” drill is expected to take place between 9:20 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. There will be firearms firing “blanks” used during this drill – residents should not be alarmed, the City warned. The Lomita Sheriff's Station, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department are aware of and will be participating in the drill.
Peninsula High School is located at 27118 Silver Spur Road in Rolling Hills Estates.

Due to the large number of District employees involved in this training, there will be off-site overflow parking provided at Ridgecrest Intermediate School, located at 28915 Northbay Road in Rancho Palos Verdes, the press release said. Shuttle bus service will be provided to and from Peninsula High School for training participants.
