• RPV Gets $5M After Landslide Costs Reach $15M In 1 Year (patch.com) — Rancho Palos Verdes is getting $5 million in new state funding to help cover soaring costs from the Portuguese Bend landslide, which has already consumed about 38 percent of the city's annual budget. Local officials detail massive groundwater pumping, slower but ongoing land movement, and parallel efforts to secure tens of millions more from FEMA and other federal programs, including support for affected homeowners and potential property buyouts.
   

• Miraleste Intermediate School receives $2 million for major infrastructure projects (dailybreeze.com) — Miraleste Intermediate School in Rancho Palos Verdes will receive $2 million in federal funding to repair aging infrastructure, upgrade utilities and alarms, and address seismic needs on campus. The money will also modernize the Central Kitchen that prepares meals for schools across the Palos Verdes Peninsula, with projects targeted for completion by 2027 after recent storm-related power failures exposed vulnerabilities.
