Body of Diver Missing Off Palos Verdes Coast Recovered
The diver was reported missing Friday night.

PALOS VERDES, CA - The body of a diver who went missing off the coast of Palos Verdes Friday night has been recovered, authorities said.

The U.S. Coast Guard continued an active search for the diver Saturday after he was reported missing from his vessel around 9 p.m. on Friday. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received notification of an anchored vessel 500 yards off Rancho Palos Verdes coast left unattended with personal effects onboard.

Authorities have not identified the individual but he is described as a white male who is 6-foot 2-inches tall, weighs 220 pounds and has red hair and blue eyes. He was free diving in the area and wearing a wet suit, according to the Coast Guard.
A massive response was launched to search for the diver.
